ACL Atlantic Sun comes to Baltimore October 13, 2018

Atlantic Container Line brought one of their big G4 ships to Baltimore, Maryland: The Atlantic Sun. These large ro-ro/container ships have a very distinctive appearance. Not being an expert in shipping myself I am guessing this design reduces the chance or eliminates the chance of containers falling overboard as 270 recently did on the MSC ZOE.

The Atlantic Sun like her 4 sisters has a capacity of about 3800 containers and 1300 cars according to their webpage. She arrived on a nice overcast day which made for nice lighting on this interesting looking ship. As the ship passes watch for her stern ramp and also for tug assistance as she turns in towards the Mid-Atlantic Terminal at Dundalk.
