Arthur Maersk Arrives September 1, 2019
This 352x43m (1155x141ft) container ship was built in 2003 (BalticShipping.com) by Odense Steel Shipyard which closed in 2012 and owned by Maersk.
A blogger who goes by the name The Thumb spent 12 days aboard this ship and his adventures can be read here. He also made a video which can be viewed here.
I found two videos in addition to the one above, one from 2010 near Hamburg, Germany and one from 2014 while she makes an arrival in Savannah, Georgia. I also found a photoblog of a cadet who served aboard this ship which can be viewed here.
In my video below she can be seen passing the outbound Carnival Pride in the first scene. The pilot boat Baltimore makes an appearance when it looks like she is cutting across the ship’s path. After Arthur Maersk turns the pilot boat appears alongside showing how massive this ship is.
As she nears it can be seen that she is light enough that her bulbous bow is showing despite the large number of containers on deck. It seems the containers of numerous company names are mostly empties! After she continues past the Key bridge the tugboat April Moran can be seen turning to intercept the ship to assist her to dock.
You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
