Bahri Hofuf Departs Baltimore, Maryland September 11, 2020
This 220x32m (722x105ft) Saudi Arabian Flagged ConRo ship was built in 2013 by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan, South Korea according to BalticShipping.com. She is owned by Saudi Arabia based Bahri.
This 2013 AJOT.com article reports Bahri’s announcement of receiving this ship. This Knude Hansen page goes over design work they did for this ship and her 5 sisters.
This ship made the news twice in 2018, first in February in Houston Texas when she delivered a 296 ton pressure vessel after a 8,155 mile journey though the Houston Chronicle article doesn’t say from where nor who built the large tank. Check out this video of the unloading of this tank as well as several smaller ones. Additionally check out this video of her arriving in Houston.
Two months later Spanish activists tried to kick this ship out of Spain for loading weapons heading for Yemen according to this Informed Comment article.
I last saw this ship December 30, 2019. Click here for the blog posting.
In my 5 minute video below she can be seen assisted from Dundalk Marine Terminal by a Moran tug and turning onto the Patapsco to make her departure from Baltimore, Maryland. In a later scene the inbound bulker Flag Thenia can be seen.
