Carrol’s Creek Cafe September 4, 2020
To celebrate our 3 August birthdays, Tiffany, her son, and myself went to this place for dinner.
Carrol’s Creek Cafe seems a strange name for a place located on Spa Creek. According to the History page of the restaurant’s website the creek’s name was shown as Carrol’s Creek on a map found in France and brought to Annapolis in 1976. Apparently the creek had been named for a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Charles Carroll. The cartographer omitted an L for some reason.
We arrived a little early to our 9pm reservation time and were greeted by the sight of sailboats and the lights of downtown Annapolis and the Naval Academy on a night of perfect temperature. The staff were consistently wearing masks.
After being seated Tiffany selected a Key Lime Pie Martini which she declared creamy and delicious. Braedon had a Shirley Temple. Neither drink survived until the food arrived which did not take long.
Braedon had the Filet Mignon with french fries which was cooked perfectly.
Tiffany had the Rockfish with Lump Crab and Sauteed Spinach which she loved.
I had the Sea Scallops which included the same lump crab as Tiffany’s meal. I found it to be delicious.
I also had the Maryland Cream of Crab Soup which I found to be very delicious.
For dessert Tiffany ordered a Salted Caramel Ice Cream.
We all loved our meals, the staff was friendly and attentive, and our outdoor table had a beautiful view. We felt it was a great value for our once a year celebration.
