CSK Generation Comes to Baltimore May 25, 2020
This 292x45m (958×148ft) bulk freighter was built in 2016 by Japan Marine United Corporation as the Choully according to this PDF document (see page 4). She became the CSK Generation on December 18, 2017 according to this press release and is owned by TCC and charted to Swissmarine.
According to this recent sales list she was sold for $44.8 million. Check out this drone video of this ship.
In my 13 minute video below she can be seen passing the outbound container ship Maersk Yukon on the Patapsco River. The pilot boat Vedette approaches to deliver a pilot. Coming to town empty she sits high out of the water and ready to pick up a load of coal.
As the ship nears the pilot boat provides a sense of scale of how large this ship is, especially if you’ve seen my other videos with a pilot boat alongside the ships. After passing under the Key Bridge the crew can be seen raising the pilot ladder. In the final scene a helicopter can be seen in the distance.
You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
