Ever Lifting Comes to Baltimore January 27, 2019
This 335x45m (1099×147.63ft) container ship is about the same size as the Ever Legion which I observed to depart Baltimore, Maryland back in September of 2018. The superstructure on these Evergreen Line owned ships seems to my eyes to be unusually large and makes me wonder if there’s amenities on board these ships that are not available on other similarly sized ships. Built in 2015 by CSBC Corporation and is the 10th and final L type ship to be built by them. Evergreen has about 30 of these ships in total and about 150 container ships overall. This ship can carry 8,508 TEUs with 948 reefer plugs.
The video below is unusually long because I got video of it arriving from the bay and then being helped into its parking space under the big cranes at the Port of Baltimore and then a bit of video of the cranes moving into position and lowering their booms. Watch for the pilot ship alongside which gives a sense of how big this ship is and then for the tug boats helping.
For best results watch in FULL SCREEN. You may need to watch for 20+ seconds before full resolution kicks in.
