Gladys W Arrives in Baltimore September 22, 2019
This 183x32m (601x105ft) oil/chemical tanker was built in 2013 by STX Offshore and Shipbuilding in Jinhae, South Korea according to BalticShipping.com. She is owned by Hong Kong based Fleet Management.
She was previously owned by Stena. The only reference to this tanker I can find in relation to this in this Tanker Operater article in which was said, “In the charter market, Stena Bulk was said to have fixed the MRs ‘Stena Weco Marjorie K’, ‘Stena Weco Julia L’ and ‘Stena Weco Gladys W’ for 12 months at $14,750 per vessel.” I am not clear on what that means.
In my video below she arrived in the morning amidst some pleasure boat traffic. After passing under the Key bridge she gets assistance from the tugboat Bridget McAllister. Watch for the tanker crew dropping a line to the tug! After the ship passes the tug Timothy McAllister can be seen following to assist with docking.
