Grand Uranus Comes to Baltimore March 10, 2021
This 232x32m (761x105ft) Hong Kong flagged roro ship was built in 2012 by South Korea based Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and named D Ladybug according to scheepvaartwest.
In 2014 she became the Grand Uranus and is owned by White Tulip Shipping and managed by Cido Shipping both based in Hong Kong.
I did not discover any news items about this ship.
This video from 2016 by friend of Baltimore Shipspotting, binmei.jp shows her looking good as she sailed Japan’s Kanmon Strait. This drone video from 2018 shows her arriving in an unnamed port. Also from 2018 is this video of her visiting the Port of Rotterdam.
In my 8 minute 4K video below she can be seen arriving from the Chesapeake Bay before turning onto the Patapsco River as she makes her way to Baltimore, Maryland. Pilot boat Maryland comes alongside. Tug Eric McAllister can be seen heading out to greet the Grand Uranus. After passing under the Key Bridge tug Bridget McAllister is seen coming alongside. In later scenes Eric McAllister appears again following.
