Grande Torino Departs Baltimore August 9, 2020
This 199x36m (653x118ft) Italian flagged roro ship was built in 2018 by Yangfan in China according to this press release by the ship’s owner, Grimaldi. The press release also indicates this ship can carry up to 7,600 cars.
This Port Mobility article has photos of and talks about the ship’s delivery.
It didn’t surprise me that I didn’t find much in the way of news about this ship given how new she is but it is unusual to not see another video on YouTube about this ship other than my own.
In my 4 minute video below she can be seen heading out of Baltimore, Maryland on the Patapsco River. Her paint job still looks excellent and makes a fine sight heading under the Key Bridge. As the ship passes one can see the painted center line on the stern ramp which is unusual. In one of the final scenes a boat belonging to local service, TowboatUS, can be seen. In the final scene she passes the inbound bulker Genco Aquitaine.
