Gunde Maersk comes to Baltimore October 21, 2018

At the time of its arrival it was the largest container ship to visit Baltimore, Maryland. Since then the identically sized Gunhilde Maersk and Georg Maersk have also been observed by me to make visits. She was built in 2008 by Odense Steel Shipyard which closed in 2012.

According to MarineTraffic.com this ship is 366.89×42.8m (1203.7×140.4ft). She is quite a sight to watch! While watching the video below watch for the tugs assisting the big ship, the trailers in container form towards the bow.
