Gunvor Maersk Comes to Baltimore February 21, 2021

This 366x42m (1201x138ft) Denmark flagged container ship was built in 2005 by Odense Steel Shipyard in Odense, Denmark and owned by Copenhagen, Denmark based Maersk according to BalticShipping.com.

She is a Gundrun Maersk class container ship according to this WikiPedia article which also indicates she can carry up to 8,500 TEU.

She was not the first to wear the Gunvor Maersk name as this National Museum Wales page shows. A circa 1936 photo is also shown.

During a December 2019 drydocking in COSCO ZhouShan Shipyard in China she underwent a control system upgrade from the WECS-9500 model to the WECS-9520 which is more reliable and efficient and helps reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses according to this Wartsila article.

This 2009 video shows the Gunvor Maersk nearly devoid of containers after also showing the Cornelius Maersk. This 2012 video shows her with considerably more containers. A glimpse into shipboard holiday celebrations can be seen in these two videos of Christmas 2020 and New Years 2020/2021.
