Hakata Princess Comes to Baltimore December 17, 2020
This 182x32m (597x105ft) Panama flagged tanker was built in 2018 by Saiki Heavy Industries in Saiki, Japan and according to ClassNK.jp has two owners listed, first being Kyowa Kisen Co. and second being Green Spanker Shipping.
She is managed by Synergy Maritime.
I did not find any news items on this ship but I did find this short 2018 video of her being launched as well as this much longer video of the same event. I suggest skipping to about 7:30.
In my 9 minute 4K video below she can be seen arriving on the Patapsco River as the tug Gramma Lee T Moran heads out to meet her. Although signs of wear are starting to show on her paint job it still looks pretty sharp. As she passes under the Key bridge the tug Gramma Lee T Moran moves in to provide assistance.
In the next scene crew can be seen on deck. Floating cranes can be seen pile driving on construction for BGE’s new overhead power line across the Patapsco River. Pilot boat Baltimore can be seen coming alongside. In the next scene a coal barge pushed by tug Janet passes as a pilot climbs the ladder to board the Hakata Princess.
