Hua Sheng Hai Comes to Baltimore November 29, 2019
This 229x32m (751x105ft) bulk freighter was built in 2017 by Chengxi Shipyard Company in China and is owned by COSCO Bulk according to Vessel Tracking.
This ship made the news this past October when a collision occurred involving this ship and a French fishing trawler by the name of Kirrixki off the Kerry Coast in Ireland. This Afloat article has more information including a photo of the trawler’s damaged bow.
The only video I am aware of of this ship is my own, below which shows her making a sunrise arrival to Baltimore, Maryland. Early in the video is an unusual scene of the tugs Lynne Moran and Gramma Lee T Moran approaching the ship from the Sparrows Point channel after they had assisted a ship in docking there.
As the ship passed under the Key Bridge the outbound tugboat Cape May can be seen pushing tanker barge Double Skin 12, both owned by Vane Brothers. In the final scene the ship and two tugs can be seen passing the docked ACL Conro ship Atlantic Sail being worked by two of the Port of Baltimore‘s 4 Post-Panamax cranes.
