Lordship Comes to Baltimore September 5, 2020
This 291x45m (955x148ft) Liberian flagged bulker was built in 2010 by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Mokpo, South Korea according to BalticShipping.com.
According to this 2016 article by Dry Bulk Magazine she was purchased by Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp and renamed from E.R. Bavaria. She’d been owned by E.R. Shchiffahrt GmbH which itself was sold to Zeaborn in 2018 according to this Maritime Executive article.
I found no news items for ships under either name nor videos for her old name. However this interesting drone video from May of this year appeared. This video posted March of this year on the YouTube channel of her current owner shows scenes of a Panama Canal transit apparently taken from the bridge of this ship.
In my 12 and a half minute video below she can be seen turning onto the Patapsco River from the Chesapeake Bay. Pilot boat Baltimore heads out to put pilost aboard as she approaches Baltimore, Maryland. The pilots can be seen climbing the ladder as the ship turns. As the ship nears it can be seen that the is empty and quite large.
Local pleasure craft provide a handy size comparison. As the ship continues to near a pilot can be seen descending the ladder onto the pilot boat Baltimore. As she passes under the Key bridge the tug Patrick McAllister comes alongside.
You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
