Maersk Shams Departs Baltimore December 30, 2019
This 299x48m (981x157ft) container ship was built in 2015 by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea and is owned by Yuki Shipping Pte. Ltd. according to scheepvaartwest. She is currently operated by Maersk.
She can carry up to 9,971 TEU and has 1,400 reefer plugs.
According to this Maritime Herald article she had a bad day on July 6th, 2016 when she ran aground in the Suez Canal, possibly due to a blackout aboard ship. She was refloated 7 hours later with the assistance of 4 tugs and suffered no damage.
Check out this 2016 video of her departing Felixtowe, UK after her maiden call there.
In my video below she can be seen assisted off the dock by tugs as local tug activity takes place before turning and heading outbound on the Patapsco River. After passing under the Key bridge she passes a Krause tugboat awaiting the arrival of a tanker ship which can be seen in the next scene already being assisted by another Krause tug. She then makes a turn towards the Chesapeake Bay with buoy lights blinking red and green.
