MSC Fiammetta Comes to Baltimore May 17, 2020
This 277×40 (909x131ft) container ship was built in 2008 by Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries in Goeje, South Korea according to scheepvaartwest. She is owned by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) and can carry up to 5,762 TEUs and has 632 reefer plugs.
She appears to have had an uneventful career as I do not see any news items on her. However, there are several videos of her on YouTube. Check out this drone video from October, 2019. Also check out this video taken on May of 2017.
In my video below she can be seen approaching from the Chesapeake Bay onto the Patapsco River as the pilot boat Vedette approaches to deliver a pilot. As she nears it can be seen she is carrying mostly MSC containers. As the ship passes a bulker under the Key Bridge the tug April Moran can be seen making a hard turn to come alongside. The tug Lynne Moran follows suit. In the last couple of scenes she can be seen near the larger Maersk Sydney being worked by cranes.
