MSC Krystal Comes to Baltimore February 23, 2020
This 277×40 (909x131ft) container ship was built in 2008 by Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries in Geoje, South Korea and is owned by Geneva, Switzerland based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) according to scheepvaartwest. She can carry up to 5,762 TEU and up to 632 reefers.
On August 20, 2015 350 kilo (772lbs) were found in one or more containers aboard this ship in Santos, Brazil according to this FleetMon article. No crew were arrested so it seems probable they were unaware.
Check out this June 2019 video of this ship departing Felixstowe, UK for Hamburg, Germany by friend of Baltimore Shipspotting Shipping TV. He also caught this ship again on February 4, 2020 returning to Felixstowe.
In my video below she can be seen turning turning onto the Patapsco River from the Chesapeake Bay while dredging operations are underway. The pilot boat Maryland arrives. Tugboat Patrick McAllister arrives to help this ship to dock. As the ship nears a pilot can be seen disembarking and then grabbing a bag being lowered to the pilot boat. After passing under the Key Bridge the tugboat turns to intercept the ship.
