Ponderosa Mine Tour July 31, 2019

Within the Ponderosa Saloon on the main drag in Virginia City, Nevada is an unusual mine tour. The owners of the saloon discovered that the Best & Belcher mine lay only a short distance away and so dug a tunnel to it.

It is well worth doing this tour if for no other reason than there’s probably nowhere else in the world you can visit a former mine directly from within a saloon!

The saloon also has another unusual feature – a vault from when the place was a bank which opened in 1864! Click here to see more photos from this place.
