Royal Knight Departs Baltimore August 26, 2020

This 197x32m (646x105ft) Panama flagged bulker was built in 2013 by Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Kobe, Japan and owned by Koyo Line of Tokyo, Japan according to BalticShipping.com. I didn’t find an exact match for Koyo Line but Koyo Kaiun Co. did come up, however, they specialize in tanker ships.

Doing a google search for the owner a Featured Snippet indicates that VesselFinder.com shows Tateyama Naviera SA is the owner. VesselFinder’s page on this ship shows the ship’s owner locked so I am not sure how this Featured Snippet got the info. A search for Tateyama Naviera shows them listed as a member of the Chiba Shipping Group. Chiba Shipping Group‘s fleet list is a little unusual in that it shows ships by number rather than name, however #11 on this list matches by deadweight, builder, and year built.

I did not find any news items on this unusually named ship nor did I find any video other than my own below.

In my 4 minute video below she can be seen turning from Curtis Bay onto the Patapsco River to make her departure from Baltimore, Maryland. Based on her waterline she appears to have a partial load. Given where she came from she probably has coal. The inbound container ship Ortolan Gamma passes.

You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
