Titania Comes to Baltimore, Maryland September 13, 2020
This 227×32 (745x105ft) Malta flagged RoRo ship was built in 2011 by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in Goeje, South Korea according to BalticShipping.
According to this page on the website of her Norway based owner, Wallenius Willhelmsen, she is one of their LCTC ships, or Large Car and Truck Carrier and can carry up to 7,934 cars.
This 2012 Offshore Energy article says the Titania has a Becker Intelligent Monitoring System installed.
In February of 2020 a crewmember was injured onboard this ship and the US Coast Guard medevaced him from the Titania and took him to Greenville Pit Memorial Hospital in Greenville. This Coast Guard News item includes video.
I found two videos of this ship besides my own, both by friend of Baltimore Shipspotting binmei.jp, this one from 2014 and this one from 2018 both in Japan’s Kanmon Strait.
In my 10 minute video below she can be seen approaching on the Patapsco River as she makes her way towards Baltimore, Maryland. Pilot boat Baltimore approaches to put a pilot aboard. As she nears it can be seen that her paint has begun to fade. Perhaps she will be due for drydock time soon.
After she passes under the Key Bridge the tug Gramma Lee T Moran comes alongside to lend docking assistance. In the same scene a pilot can be seen beginning the descent to the pilot boat. After a location switch she can be seen docking behind the Tysla, another Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship. The tug Gramma Lee T Moran can be seen making her way back to base after finishing her work with the Titania.
