USS LSD-51 Oak Hill Comes to Baltimore, October 3, 2018

This Harpers Ferry Class Dock Landing Ship is 609ft 7in x 84ft (185.8×25.6m) and was built in New Orleans, Louisiana by Avondale Shipyard. They were bought by Litton Industries then Northrop Grumman according to Wikipedia. The yard closed in 2014. More info about Avondale Shipyards can be found at Shipbuilding History. She can carry two helicopters and within the well deck a pair of LCACs. She arrived to participate in the 2018 Baltimore Fleet Week. Donna L. Cole with 1430 WNAV made this report about the ship and her arrival which includes video and photos. Watch my video below. For best results watch in FULL SCREEN. You may need to watch for 20+ seconds before full resolution kicks in.

You can also see all of the ships I saw this day in this 44 minute video.
