World of Beer October 23, 2019
After the Domino Sugar tour half of us headed over to World of Beer located at 1724 Whetstone Way, Baltimore, MD. There is a good amount of parking nearby so this is a good choice for a group. They also have some tables large enough to handle a good size group. It may be because we were there on a Wednesday afternoon but the noise level did not go high enough to make conversations difficult.
They have a good selection of beers and other beverages on tap and in containers.
I ordered a local flight of local beers even though the $12 price seems a little high to me. From left to right they are: RAR 16oz, Charm City Pumpkin, Union Trip Leader, Diamondback Purple Passion. My favorite was from the good folks at Charm City Meadworks, the Pumpkin and was actually better than I thought it would be. Next was the Union Trip Leader which I could have gotten used to, then the Diamondback Purple Passion which I found to be too tart for my tastes, and last the RAR 16oz which had a flavor I didn’t care for. The Pumpkin was the only one I finished.
The Parmesan & Garlic Boneless Wings were what I ordered for food and at $10 was a good match for the portion size though some fries wouldn’t have hurt. I found them to be very tasty, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. They were good enough I didn’t even bother with the Ranch dressing very much.
This seems like a good place to try different kinds of beer from around the world and has a good selection of local items as well. You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
