American Constitution Comes to Baltimore December 21, 2018

If it looks like this 82x17m (269x56ft) (according to CruiseMapper) ship just floated off the showroom pond, it did! She was completed in 2018 here in Maryland at Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury. She belongs to American Cruise Lines and is considered to be a modern riverboat and is intended to go places bigger ships can’t. Her upcoming cruises are 11 day/20 night roundtrip cruises out of Baltimore as well as cruises of the same length from Boston, Massachusetts. She has room for 175 passengers in 89 cabins across 5 decks. In the video below you’ll see her pass the tugboat McAllister Sisters towing a container barge before she heads under the Key bridge. For best results watch in FULL SCREEN. You may need to watch for 20+ seconds before full resolution kicks in.

I also saw 3 other ships this day, the self discharging bulk freighter CSL Tacoma, the tanker Golden Ray, and the container ship Primavera.
