Arun Comes to Baltimore September 1, 2020
This 253x43m (830x141ft) Cyprus flagged bulk carrier was built in 2012 by STX Dalian Shipbuilding in Dalian, China (now owned by DSIC after 2015 bankruptcy) according to BalticShipping.com. Essar Shipping Cyprus is listed on Baltic Shipping as the owner however Essar Shipping is a Mumbai, India company and I was able to find no evidence of a Cyprus based company with the same name.
This Offshore Energy article from February 28, 2012 refers to Essar taking delivery of this ship. It is interesting that this large ship is referred to as a “Mini Cape”.
Other than my own video below and the news item above I was unable to find anything else on this ship.
In my 6 minute 45 second video below she can be seen approaching from the Patapsco River. Her time at sea shows on her paint job. Tugs Patrick McAllister and Timothy McAllister are seen coming to give this ship docking assistance. At the tail end of the video the big Port of Baltimore cranes can be seen working an MSC container ship.
