Bulker NBA Van Dyck Departs Baltimore, September 13, 2018

This 234x38m (768x125ft) bulk freighter was built in 2014 by Koyo Dockyard in Imihara, Japan according to BalticShipping.com. Imabari Shipbuilding took ownership of Koyo Dockyard the same year. This ship is owned by NYK Line, better known for their roro ships.

In the first scene of the video below she can be seen passing the inbound container ship Rio Negro under Baltimore, Maryland’s Key Bridge. She is riding low in the water, probably loaded with coal. Her overcast evening departure from the Patapsco river into the Chesapeake Bay is quiet and some birds pass overhead as the sky turns pink.
