Carnival Pride Comes to Baltimore February 23, 2020
This 294x32m (963x106ft) Carnival owned cruise ship was built by Kværner Masa-Yards in Helsinki, Finland, according to this Wikipedia article, and launched in 2001. They currently have 7 and 14 day cruises for up to 2,124 guests and crew of 930 out of Baltimore, Maryland. Click here to read more about this ship’s amenities and cruises.
She arrived late to Baltimore, Maryland due to a combination of bad weather and engine issues. This CruiseRadio.net article has more details. Also see this Cruise Hive article.
A Coast Guard bulletin sent January 18, 2020 says a 34 year old man was medevaced from this ship about 75 miles north of San Juan, Puerto Rico with a MH-65 helicopter. The bulletin doesn’t say when this occurred but it does say this mission stretched the range of their helicopter.
Check out this Cruise Radio video tour of this ship.
In my video below this ship can be seen turning off the Chesapeake Bay and onto the Patapsco River as she heads for Baltimore. The floating structures to the left are conducting dredging operations. As the ship nears it is clear the paint job she got last year when she went to drydock (which I mention in this blog entry) is not holding out very well. A few people can be seen moving about the ship enjoying the final moments of their trip before the ship docks.
