This 211x29m (692x95ft) Antigua and Barbuda flagged container ship was built in 2009 by Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry in Xiamen, China and owned by Emden, Germany based Lauterjung Reederei according to BalticShipping.

The company has an interesting and diverse collection of ships. This ship has a pair of siblings, the City of Beijing and the City of Shanghai.

They have a fascinating detailed data sheet on this ship which includes a diagram which shows how many containers they can put below decks. It also reports she can carry up to 2,564 TEU and can connect up to 342 reefers.

I did not find news items or video other than my own on this ship. The ship’s name similarity with a large city may have obscured them beyond my efforts to find them.

In my 5 minute 42 second video below she can be seen approaching on the Patapsco River after having arrived from the Chesapeake Bay. ConRo Atlantic Sky can be seen following. Pilot boat Baltimore comes alongside. It is unusual to see a container ship with cranes. She is carrying a colorful assortment of containers bearing the names of a variety of shipping companies such as Hamburg Sud, MSC, and Maersk. After passing under the Key Bridge the tug Gramma Lee T Moran can be seen alongside. In the final scene she can be compared to much larger MSC and Maersk ships already docked at Seagirt Marine Terminal.
