Ebony Ray Departs Baltimore February 14, 2021

This 145x23m (476x75ft) Singapore flagged tanker was built in 2008 by Usuki Shipyard Company in Usuki, Japan for Lexson Shipping and named Millennium Park according to scheepvaartwest. The builder has this simple data sheet which includes a photo of her as built.

In 2014 she was renamed Ebony Ray and was acquired by Nitizo Marine. She is operated by Singapore based Eastern Pacific Shipping and managed by MTM Ship Management also based in Singapore. For reasons unclear to me she appears on the roster of Ace Tankers.

Blogger Ship Spotter Steve saw this ship in Fawley, UK in 2014. In the photo it appears her then new name was painted over the old one.

6028-1 Tanker Ebony Ray

These two videos from 2015 show her entering then exiting locks on the Emden River in Germany. This drone video from 2016 from an unspecified location gives a nice view of her. This 2019 video shows her transiting locks on the Welland Canal in Canada.

6093-1 Tanker Ebony Ray

In my 5 minute 4K video below she can be seen backing from her berth in Baltimore Maryland assisted by tug Theresa Krause. As she turns the tug David Krause comes into view on her bow. After the tugs have finished assisting her she begins to accelerate outbound on the Patapsco River and the splashing of her propeller can be seen. By the time she passes Fort Carroll she is moving at a good clip and crew can be seen moving about. Inound general cargo Lawin Arrow is seen passing.
