Grand Pioneer Comes to Baltimore September 20, 2020

This 199x32m (653x105ft) Panama flagged roro vehicles carrier was built in 2002 by Shin Kurushima Dockyard and managed by South Korea based Cido Shipping and owned by Dynamic Carrier Shipping S.A. according to scheepvaartwest. She can carry up to 6,500 cars.

ON the 17th of August 2014 she and another ship, the AAL Freemantle, experienced a scary mishap in a windstorm which caused a bollard to fail and both ships to break free of moorings in the Port of Fremantle, Western Australia. This Australian Transport Safety Bureau PDF has details which makes for an interesting read.

This video from 2013 shows her on the Weser River in Germany. This drone video from 2018 shows her arriving in Philadelphia and unloading cars. This video from earlier this year shows her being turned by 3 tugs.

In my 8 minute video below she can be seen arriving on the Patapsco River towards Baltimore, Maryland. The outbound container ship is Hansa Asia. Pilot boat Baltimore comes alongside. As she nears a basketball court can be seen on the top deck. After she passes under the Key Bridge the tug Gramma Lee T Moran can be seen awaiting the ship. In the final scenes she can be seen turned towards Dundalk Marine Terminal.
