Green Bay on the Columbia River August 4, 2019

This 199×32m (653x105ft) Roro ship was built in 2007 by Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding in Toyohashi, Japan according to BalticShipping.com and formerly owned by Waterman which is a Seacor company. According to scheepvaartwest she can carry up to 6402 cars and is currently owned by LCI Shipholdings of Daphne, Alabama and managed by Wallem Shipmanagement of Hong Kong and operated by NYK Line.

I found three videos of this ship, one in 2013 in Tokyo Bay, one in 2015 of her loading cars in Emden, Germany, and one in 2017 of her in rough seas.

She is an occasional visitor to Baltimore, Maryland and I have photographed her there. In my video below she can be seen entering the Columbia River from the Pacific Ocean while beachgoers enjoy their day at Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon. As she proceeds along the river it can be seen there’s quite a bit of pleasure boat traffic. The yellow pilot boat Astoria can be seen leading the way having put a pilot aboard the ship earlier.
