MSC Coruna Comes to Baltimore December 21, 2020

This 270x40m (886×131ft) Liberia flagged container ship was built in 2011 by Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries (according to Balticshipping.com) which is now Damen Shipyards Mangalia after Damen took control of Daewoo’s shareholding in 2017.

I found a couple of videos of her, both fairly recent. One from 2019 at Felixtowe, UK, and another from this year in German.

I previously saw her August 9, 2020.

5148-1 Container Ship MSC Coruna

In my 10 minute 4K video below foghorns can be heard as tugs move into position and the pilot boat Baltimore speeds out to meet the MSC Coruna which appears like a ghost from the beyond. As she nears it can be seen she is carrying a good number of containers, many of them appearing to be reefers. As she passes under the Key Bridge Bridget McAllister moves to receive the ship as a floating crane works on BGE’s overhead power line project. As she passes from view a tanker at anchor comes into view.

You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
