MSC Vidhi Comes to Baltimore September 5, 2020
This 277×40 (909x131ft) Liberian flagged container ship was built in 2001 by Samsung Shipbuilding and Heavy Industries in Goeje, South Korea and is owned by Liberia based SFL and managed by MSC. According to this data sheet provided by SFL she can carry up to 5800 TEUs. This scheepvaartwest data sheet further says she has 632 reefer plugs.
She seems to have led an uneventful career as I found no news item on her. However, I last saw her September 1, 2019 and you can see my blog posting about that by clicking here.
My previous blog posting links some other videos on YouTube of her but some new ones have been posted since then. This video posted November, 2019 shows her on the Elbe in Germany. This drone video posted this past April doesn’t say where the action is or whether the ship is coming or going. Another drone video also posted April, 2020 and also not indicating location or arrival/departure status.
In my 9 minute 40 second video below she can be seen turning off the Chesapeake Bay onto the Patapsco River towards Baltimore, Maryland as a chubby groundhog enjoys a leafy meal. Pilot boat Baltimore can be seen alongside as she nears the camera. After she passes under the Key bridge container cranes can be seen working ships. Unusually no assisting tugs are seen until she makes her unusual outbound facing docking maneuver with the assistance of Gramma Lee T Moran and April Moran.
You can view my photography (more than just ships!) here and more videos here.
