Orchid Ace Departs Baltimore November 21, 2020
This 199x32m (653x105ft) Japan flagged RoRo ship was built in 2008 by Shin Kurushima Toyohashi Shipbuilding in Toyohashi, Japan and owned by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines which is also based in Japan according to ClassNK.
She can carry about 6,300 cars.
According to this ImportInfo page (which may look different by the time you see it if it is a dynamically updated page) she brought in items for both Isuzu and Mazda. Based on the weight per unit of the individual shipments some may be vehicles and some may be parts.
The subject of this 2011 video is the snow plowing activity at Boston Logan Airport but Orchid Ace makes an appearance as well. Filmed aboard one of her assisting tugboats this 2012 video shows her arrival to Vigo, Spain.
In my 2 minute video below she can be seen departing from Dundalk from a different perspective from most of my other videos. Tugs April Moran and Lynne Moran can be seen helping her out to the shipping channel and pilot boat Baltimore can be seen alongside. She can be seen passing under the Key Bridge on the Patapsco River as she makes her way towards the Chesapeake Bay.
