Pacific Jasper Comes to Baltimore February 22, 2020

This 182x32m (597x105ft) tanker was built in 2019 by Onomichi Dockyard according to this news item from their own page. According to Q88.com they are owned by Friend Shine Shipping S.A. and operated by Eastern Pacific Shipping in their MR Clean Fleet.

Check out an April 23, 2019 Facebook posting by the company welcoming the ship to their fleet. Also check out this May 2, 2019 article by Barird Maritime that shows the ship in the final stages of construction.

Check out this great video showing the launching of this ship. Watch for the celebration streamers on the bow of the ship and also check out the interesting tugboats used in Japan!

In my video below watch as she turns from the Chesapeake Bay onto the Patapsco River. As she heads towards the camera dredging activity can be seen to the left. As she turns on the Brewerton Angle the pilot boat Maryland comes alongside. The pilot boat swings away as she passes a docked Maersk Line container ship under Seagirt’s white container cranes.
