Parsifal Departs Baltimore September 5, 2020
This 265x32m (870x105ft) Singapore flagged roro ship was built in 2011 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, Japan for Wallenius Wilhelmsen according to this cool data sheet provided by WW which also indicates she can carry about 6,000 cars.
According to this webpage WW Parsifal is one of their Mark V ships. This Ship Technology article indicates that these ships are designed to transport and handle larger and heavier cargo at reduced fuel consumption.
This video posted in 2011 by Wallenius Wilhelmsen goes into details of what a Mark V is showing the ship built before the Parsifal, the Tonsberg.
Some blue Linie containers can be seen on the top of the ship as she passes. This WW news item describes what is happening in these containers: Aquavit maturation!
Parsifal did not always have the black and blue paint scheme as shown in this 2011 video by friend of Baltimore Shipspotting binmei.jp. This 2017 video shows her still wearing this paint scheme. The first time I saw her in 2018 she was already wearing the scheme she currently wears.
In my 5 minute 32 second video below she can be seen heading outbound on the Patapsco River as she makes her departure from Baltimore, Maryland. Watch for the Linie containers as she passes near. As she moves away from the camera her giant stern ramp made for heavy equipment comes into view.
