Thermopylae Comes to Baltimore September 1, 2018
This 199.99×36.5m (656.13×119.75ft) Ro-Ro ship was built in 2015 by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries shipyard in Mokpo, South Korea according to Ship Management International. She is one of 8 HERO (High Efficiency RoRo) vessels in Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s inventory. She can be loaded with up to 8,000 cars and judging by her fading and well worn paint job she must see a lot of use. In the video below she can be seen passing the tug Island Trader pushing a barge out of Baltimore, Maryland. For best results watch in FULL SCREEN. You may need to watch for 20+ seconds before full resolution kicks in.
The Liberty Ship John W Brown can be seen following her in. I also saw an unusual general cargo ship this day, the SLNC York.
