Virginia City Brewery & Taphouse July 31, 2019

(This post is part of a (mostly) non-ship series about a trip to the West I took during July and August of 2019)

Micro breweries and distilleries are fun to visit. In the Baltimore area I’ve been to the Baltimore Spirits Company and the Charm City Meadworks. I have more in this area to visit.

During this trip we visited a few micro breweries and Virginia City Brewery & Taphouse was the first. It is fun seeing the big barrels in which the products are made and trying out the “flights” – small glasses sampling them.

Flight of beers at Virginia City Brewery & Taphouse

The flight this place offers includes the 601 IPA, V&T Lager, Marlette Red, Yellow Jacket Pale Ale, and Steampunk XPA. They were out of the 601 IPA during our visit. I no longer remember for sure which one I liked and which one I didn’t – I don’t have a good fast way to take notes while out with my camera (suggestions encouraged!). I feel like I remember the Steampunk being too bitter and the Marlette Red being the sweetest. I believe the V&T Lager tasted most like “plain beer” (I am not by any means a beer enthusiast) to me, with the Yellow Jacket being the second sweetest.

All in all this is definitely a nice place to make a stop while in Virginia City!
