WECO Josefine Comes to Baltimore April 21, 2019

Writing a blog post on a bulk freighter ship like this one is usually a bummer because it can be difficult to find out anything about them such as who owns it. However, things are different for this 180x30m (590.55×98.43) ship which was built by Tsuneishi Heavy Industries and delivered January 15, 2018, their 242nd delivered vessel. Watch this great video of the naming and launching ceremony for this ship! This ship is owned by WECO Bulk and according to the launching video she is named for the daughter of the CEO.

In the below video she can be seen being helped towards Sparrows Point, owned by Tradepoint Atlantic, by tugs Timothy McAllister and Robert E. McAllister amidst pleasure boat traffic. For best results watch in FULL SCREEN. You may need to watch for 20+ seconds before full resolution kicks in.

On this day I also saw the vehicles carrier Hoegh Asia arrive and the cruise ship Carnival Pride depart.
