Gentle Leader Came to Baltimore October 18, 2020

This 199x32m (653x105ft) Bahamas flagged roro ship was built in 2008 by now defunct Stocznia Gdynia in Gdynia, Poland and according to BalticShipping.com owned by Isle of Man, UK based Ray Car Carriers and managed by Athens, Greece based Stamco Ship Management.

According to scheepvaartwest, however, this ship is instead owned by Isle of Man based Gentle Maritime Limited and operated by NYK Line. Also according to scheepvaartwest she can carry up to 6,400 cars.

I did find some videos besides my own. Check out this 2016 video of her preparing to get underway from Emden, Germany. Also in Germany is this 2017 drone video. This video is another drone video from 2020 of her departing Santos Port in Brazil.

2229-1 RoRo Gentle Leader

In my 8 minute video below she can be seen arriving from the Chesapeake Bay onto the Patapsco River as she heads for Baltimore, Maryland. A pilot can be seen boarding the ship from the pilot boat Baltimore. As she passes under the Key Bridge a sharp eye can see the pilot being escorted by the crew towards the bridge. Tug Bridget McAllister is seen following preparing to assist with docking operations.
