Lawin Arrow Comes to Baltimore February 14, 2021
This 199x32m (653x105ft) Bahamas flagged general cargo ship was built in 2014 by Oshima Shipbuilding Company in Saikai, Japan and owned by Gearbulk Shipping and operated by G2 Ocean, a collaboration between Gearbulk and Grieg Star.
This Gearbulk press release about the delivery of the Lawin Arrow talks about the improvements this ship’s design has over her predecessors.
According to this Chamber of Shipping article she was the first vessel to be painted in the G2 Ocean livery.
She is one of four of G2 Ocean’s Flexi-II Eco vessels. This page has details including diagrams of the cargo area.
This video from 2017 by G2 Ocean shows drone footage of the ship and crew. This 2016 video shows her on the Weser River in Germany.
In my 6 minute 4K video below the first scene is the outbound self discharging bulker CSL Spirit. The inbound Lawin Arrow is seen on the Patapsco River in the fog. Pilot boat Maryland comes alongside. Outbound tanker Ebony Ray passes. Tug Lynne Moran is seen ready to lend docking assistance.
